Setup

Hardware
Protocol

Corvus runs on hardware you probably already own — or can pick up for under $200.

01

A Tablet

Any Android tablet with an 8-10" screen works great — we recommend something like a Lenovo Tab. Install the Corvus app, log in, and you're running. Works offline too: tickets queue locally when WiFi drops and sync the moment you reconnect — no lost orders.

02

A Thermal Printer

For receipts and kitchen tickets. Any 80mm thermal printer works — we like the Munbyn ITPP047. Around $60-80 online. We recommend a direct USB connection over WiFi for reliability — just grab a USB OTG adapter (~$8) and plug the printer straight into your tablet.

03

Your Payment Terminal

Use whatever card reader you already have — Square, Clover, or a basic terminal from your bank. Corvus tracks the sale, you handle the swipe.

Mandatory Connection

USB-C to OTG
Adapter Required

Direct physical connection is 10x more reliable than WiFi in high-volume environments. An OTG cable costs ~$8 and ensures zero dropped tickets.

Common QUESTIONS

Can my bilingual staff use it without switching languages manually?
Yes — staff screens render per-user language, menu labels render per-customer language, kitchen tickets render per-kitchen-role preference. All live, not bulk-translated.
We run staff who speak Mandarin, Arabic, or another language. Can you support that?
Yes — the underlying i18n infrastructure is locale-agnostic. English and Spanish ship in production; we add additional languages on request. Tell us what you need on the demo form and we'll scope it on the first call.
What happens if the internet goes down mid-service?
Offline-first. Tickets queue locally and sync on reconnect. No lost orders.
How hard is it to switch from Toast, Square, or Clover?
Menu import and staff setup typically takes a weekend. We walk you through it on the onboarding call.
What about PCI compliance?
Payment processing runs through Stripe Terminal. Corvus POS stays out of the card data path — SAQ-A scope.
Do you support multi-location?
Yes — shared menus, per-location pricing, consolidated reporting.
